My favorite aspect of photography is the way it forces me to look around the world when i'm not taking photos. When walking or really doing anything I find myself constantly imagining what the world around me would look like as a photo. With this project I had the goal of creating a world only the camera could see. Cameras have the ability to do long exposures, making the colors and textures, the human eye isn’t sensitive enough to see at night, come through vividly in photos. The world at night already naturally feels mysterious, but knowing that a camera has the ability to see it completely differently and with such detail makes it seem even more mysterious. I wanted to construct a world that exists parallel to ours but is only understandable through the lens of a camera.
