No matter the differences between everyone’s experience in high school, they can be connected by the emotions we feel. Everyone has gone through heartbreak, the loss of a good friend, and a timeless day with friends.
In this project, I filmed reactions to a single question and conveyed their emotions through animation. The interviewees had no prior knowledge of the question in order to capture the most authentic reaction. Each person’s emotions showed their personal crush experience; feeling flustered, giddy, and lovey. It’s such a high-school question to ask, “who’s your crush?” In that moment of uncomfortability following the question, the answer can be felt and seen without being said.
